I recently wrote into the poker table an extension to the Ignore feature that already existed on the forums and lobby chat.

Using this, you should no longer see that person's chat at the tables.

You will see the following if you have someone that is Ignored. This is so people don't seem like they are talking to their self...
414

I add this as online games do have an "Ignore" or "Block" feature and I've already been told multiple times that there is too much bad blood between users. Enough so they find it hard to enjoy playing, in result driving people away.

If two or more people can't be nice and refuse to ignore each other. Then I will enable a "Force Ignore" on the admin side that can't removed, other than by me.

I hadn't seen anyone leave over this so called bad blood..... The same ppl are here and nvr left...
Now some are coming back and this new feature is introduced thinking it will help the site...This will not help this site...It will help certain individuals...
Now when a grinder chipper player is at the table and some players know player is capable of taking his/her chips...They get ignored..
There are some i'd like to ignore but i can tolerate anyone and everyone...I don't need any hidden feature..
This will be the demise of the site all because a choice few requested this....
I remember the day and i know joe wasn't there on old fatcat but ppl loved to chat even sing with other ppl Veterans of (fatcat) and New players alike..
I don't want to say those days are over they could spark back up and the chat be good for the site..
As i stated in several posts this is a 2 team site at the moment and FILLED with ANIMOSITY.....Some like to hold grudges some do not...
But this IGNORE feature is for those choice few...Not for me...
I nvr liked the thought of the cloak and the dagger....You have a problem with a player face it take it head on and dissolve, squash, forgive,(take their chips) and move on...

An ignore or block feature is fine as long as it is that you can only ignore/block incoming messages from someone, not block what you say on the tables so others cannot see it. That should be up to the other person to choose to reciprocate and block the person who blocked them.

Myself I want to see if people are talking about me or to me, and i want to see if there is card sharing or whatever in the chat , I am not a coward to hide behind a curtain , and i want to see ALL the chat and not have someone tell me what i can and cannot see...... If they choose not to see mine thats perfectly fine but deciding what I can and cannot see is censorship and that is not the way a block and ignore should work.

If you can block others from seeing your chat , essentially a team could all block everyone except their team and share their cards on the table and would rarely lose a hand, Someone who doesnt like someone could badmouth them to the rest of the site without the person ever knowing, it could be libelous lies to the extent of whatever, child porn, drug addiction , sexual preference and on and on....that just isnt right, and perhaps could lead to legal problems if someone was to say the slanderous chat they were blocked from caused anything from depression to violence or suicide. It could possibly become online bullying with the person perhaps not even knowing for the lingest time.

I am not saying any of this would happen just saying it could happen if people are allowed to hide what they say from others. I would seriously hope this block/ignore feature only prevents the person implementing it to be sheltered from chat that they wish to not see and not that they can shelter others from what they say.

agree but sometimes the less said the better. Feelings can be hurt very easily even if no intent is meant

This isn't blocking others from seeing your chat.

If I choose to ignore person A. I won't see person A's chat. But they can still see what I say if they choose to. It block incoming messages to the receiver, and all chat is still logged.
